“Lisa was in my room?” I asked, my Jaw went slack, leaving my lips parted helplessly

“What was she doing there? And how did she even get access to my room?” My brows furrowed, casting deep shadows over my eyes
“When I confronted her, she claimed that your room was already open when she got there. Elish explained.
That’s not possible, I made sure I double checked if my door was properly locked before I left the pack.

With so much rage and determination I walked into her room. Surprisingly. I found Lisa, Serena and one other her room – Jared.
My eyes widened in disbelief as I wasn’t expecting to see Jared in her room.

“You left almost immediately sis that’s why I didn’t tell you.”
She took another glance at me, “why are you so tense?”
I ignored Serena and faced Lisa
“Why were you in my room earlier?”
She looked at me for a while, her face a mix of confusion and guilt.
“I’m sorry my queen. I was looking for you. I knocked several times but no one answered, so I just opened the door to check if you were okay.” She explained, she shifted uncomfortably, knowing the truth was out.
“My room was locked, Lisa. There’s no way you could have just knocked and opened a closed door.”
“I swear by the moon goddess my queen, your room wasn’t locked.”
It was pointless arguing with her as I knew that she wasn’t going to admit it.

So I suspected that Lisa must have stolen the keys from Serena. And knowing that she was Jared’s sister, everything began to make sense.
“Serena, you still have my spare keys don’t you?
“Yes sis, it’s safe in my bag.

She stood up and reached for her bag, handing the bunch of keys to me she said,
“Sis, is everything okay? Lisa was just looking for you, she wanted to know if you still had the drugs you gave me the last time I was sick.”
“If Lisa is not feeling well she should go to the pack’s doctor. There’s no need to come to my room.”

“No buts Serena, you could have gotten the drugs yourself. Why did you let her go by herself?”
“I thought you were around sis, Lisa meant no harm. She was only trying to get help.”
Serena was hell bent on defending Lisa, that was strange, very strange.
All the while we were conversing Jared said nothing. I guess he didn’t want to get in my bad book because of the request he
made earlier.
“I need to talk to you, Serena. Come with me.”
I turned to leave but she was a bit hesitant.
“Now!”
She immediately followed me, leaving Jared and his sister alone.
“Serena, sweetheart,” I stared, my voice barely audible.
“Sis, I know that I’ve asked you this before but… is there a problem? A lot seems to have changed around here, you barely have time for yourself time for me.”
“You’re young Serena, you…”
“But you’re also young.”
“We stayed together, ate together and shared everything with each other. There were no secrets between us. But now..” she looked away as she blinked her eyes rapidly, trying to control the tears that were threatening to spill.
“When was the last time we ate together, Silverstone?” Her question took me off balance. I wasn’t expecting her to be this emotional
“I’m sorry Silverstone, trust me, everything I’m doing right now…”

I felt bad, everything Serena complained about was true but how do I explain to her that that bastard Jared was just after our pack.
How do I explain the dangers lurking the pack to her? Letting her know too much was definitely not good for her. And with everything that Klein had told me, I think it’s best to play safe.
“When everything is over, Serena, I’ll make it up to you. I promise.”
“Start by having dinner with me tonight, it’s been so long since we ate together as sisters.
As a family.
Since our father’s death, a lot has changed around here. You’re always busy with one thing or the other.”
“Times have changed and it changed so quickly, Serena. The weight of the pack is on my shoulders and I can’t afford to let them down.” I explained, my voice calm.
“But we’ll all have dinner tonight as one big happy family! Me, you, Maria…”
“Lisa” Serena continued, interrupting me.
I had no intention of inviting her over, but since Serena wanted that, I had to agree. I didn’t want anything that would make her sad
Besides, it’ll be a good opportunity for me to get to know Lisa too.
