Chapter 34
Silverstone’s pov
What could Jared be doing with the bag? And why is Lisa so comfortable with Jared touching her like that? It was very obvious that this wasn’t the first. It must have been going on for a while now.
I told Klein of my plans to search the bag but apparently, he had other plans.
“I have a plan, Silverstone.” He said to me, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
“Once they’re about to leave, we’ll intercept them with my car and snatch the bag quickly. He won’t see us coming.”
His plan sounded nice, made perfect by the fact that the car he drove here wasn’t his so Jared couldn’t trace it.
The moment they stood up to leave, Klein and I followed from behind.
My Heart was pounding in my ears as we crept along the curb, keeping pace with them.
Just another car on the street, nothing suspicious here.
“Do it,” I muttered to Klein beside me. “Let’s do it!”
He was a bit tense, his hoodie pulled low.
There is always a first time for everything I guess.
The street was a little too quiet than usual. Perfect.
Klein jerked the car to a stop, and I moved like lightning the way we had planned it.
We couldn’t afford to make any mistakes at this time, any delay would definitely be dangerous.
One quick lounge out the door, I snatched and grabbed the bag from Jared. I heard him startle.
“Hey!”
But I completely ignored him, so we drove away quickly.
In the rear view mirror, I caught a last glimpse of Jared and Lisa standing there, looking small and shocked on the empty sideways.
I had never seen Jared that helpless before.
“Finally!” Klein laughed.
“We made it!” I added, clutching the bag.
“I can’t wait to see what’s inside,” I said excitedly.
The car was filled with a loud laugh of victory, for a while we felt like professional robbers.
“Let’s see what we..” Klein’s voice trailed off as I dug through it.
“What the hell? There’s nothing here”

The triumph in our chest suddenly turned to ice.
As always, Jared was one step ahead of us.
Or should I say two steps.
“How’s that even possible klein. When is this ever going to end!” I lost it, tears streaming down my cheeks, my eyes that were filled with laughter a while ago, now red and cloudy.
I felt like I could never do it, like there was just a string force stopping me from catching Jared red handed.
Klein noticed the frustration on my face and held my hands, “You don’t have to do it alone, I’ll stay with you through every step of the way.” He pulled me closer, awkwardly maneuvering over the center console to hold me.
I buried my face in his neck, breathing in his familiar scent as months of built–up strength crumbled.
He consoled me, urging me to stay strong and that everything would be over soon. He promised to never leave my side. For a while I felt better.
This wasn’t the life I wished for myself. When I was a teenager, I had always longed to be happy in the future. With my mate that would die protecting me and his pups, not this hide and seek relationship I was in.
This wasn’t what I wanted, Jared ruined all my plans, and no matter how long it might take. 111 definitely make him pay. I’ll ruin all his plans too!!
I’ll ruin him, him and everyone that ruined my life with him.
Klein explained that he noticed something about Jared’s involvement in the missing scandal but he’d keep it to himself until
he was sure.
I knew he could handle it and I definitely didn’t want to insist.
I told him about my initial plans of going to the salon and he drove me down there.
I pushed open the heavy glass doors of Luminous Beauty Salon, and immediately the bustle of the street faded into a world of elegant tranquility. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow across the marble floors, their light dancing off oversized mirrors framed in ornate silver.
It was perfect, just like Maria described it.
The air carried hints of lavender and high–end hair products, mixing with the subtle notes of brewing espresso from the complementary coffee bar.
A cascade of water trickled down a backlit wall feature, creating a soothing backdrop to the quiet murmur of conversations. Sleek black styling chairs lined the main floor, each station equipped with state–of–the–art tools and products displayed on floating glass shelves.
No doubt, it was all I wanted at the moment.
All I needed to cool my head down.
“Welcome to Luminous,” a receptionist greeted me from behind a curved white quartz counter. Fresh orchids in tall glass vases flanked either side of the desk, their delicate petals perfectly matching the salon’s blush and cream color scheme.
It was perfect. I caught Klein catching a small glimpse at me, everytime our eyes met he smiled.

He was perfect for me. I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like for me without him. Going through all these trails. without him. Even though he didn’t know much, he was so willing to help me every step of the way.
So willing to stand by my side.
By the time I was done, I couldn’t find him anywhere. His lines weren’t connecting either.
I was very worried, he promised to wait for me till I was done, why did he change his mind so suddenly. And why didn’t he
tell me!!
While I was worried about Klein’s whereabouts, I received a test from Jared.
“Hello sunshine, I would like to know if you’ll be free tonight. Let’s have dinner. Anywhere you want
He sure doesn’t know when to stop. I had other things in my mind other plans and meeting Jared was definitely not an option
He claimed to love me while his sole intention was to ruin me. I didn’t even bother responding, he was invincible to me.
I
1 got home and the whole pack house was silent, a little too silent than usual and it struck some kind of concern in me. “Where’s everyone?” I muttered within myself. As I was about to go upstairs, I received a call from Klein.
“Where have you been? I’ve been trying to reach you?!”
“I’m sorry, there was an emergency. I’ll tell you everything soon. I hope you got home safely. I love you.”
“But he cut the call on me, that was strange. What could he be up to?
