He was holding Tiffany and said, “I said I
need a child, why can’t you understand that?”
I just found it ridiculous.
“What you do with your body has nothing to
do with me, you are not my man anymore!
But when you get a divorce, you can do
whatever you want.”

Tiffany was pulling Mark’s arm. “My stomach
hurts. Sarah and that old woman are bullying
- me. I don’t understand anything, they just
keep calling me a mistress. I’m not! Mark, I
just love you and want to have a baby, what
did I do wrong?”
I was done talking to them, and wanted to
leave.
く
Mark grabbed my arm and glared at me.
“Do you have to be like this? You have to
team up with outsiders to bully Tiffany, are
you that pathetic?”
“Mr. Harrison,” Mrs. Williams said as she
walked back.
When Tiffany saw her, shed her fake-
sweet voice, “That old woman was the one
who was bullying me!”
Mark’s face changed immediately, scolding
Tiffany “Shut up!”
He then turned with a fake smile, “Mrs.
Williams, what a coincidence, seeing you
here.”
く
Mrs. Williams waved it off, pulled me close, “I
was the one who asked Sarah for tea. Your
little mistress was just trying to find trouble.
Mr. Harrison, I thought you had some good
business sense, but now it’s clear you are not
very smart. I don’t think I can trust you with
my business anymore.”
“I’ll talk to my husband at home and see if we
want to continue business.
up.‘
really messed
Tiffany, embarrassed and annoyed, yelled at
Mrs. Williams.,
“Who cares if you don’t want to give us
business! Is your company the only one in the world! Mark, you should say something!”
Mrs. Williams laughed. “Alright, then we will
く
just cancel our partnership, we don’t need to
consider it.‘

She took my arm, and we left.
Mark, looking at Tiffany in a rage, screamed, “Are you stupid?! You know how much
Williams is worth? Do you know how much
money we lost? Are you crazy?!”
Tiffany cried out, “I am young, I don’t know
anything, why do you have to be so mean!”
When I got home at night, Mark was waiting
by my door.
There were cigarette butts on the ground, so I
guessed that he found out about Williams
canceling their deal.
く
He saw me and came running. “Honey, where
were you?”
I took a step back. “What do you want?”
“I was just worried about you.”
“If you don’t have anything else, I’m going to go home.”
“Can you please… just help me with Mrs. Williams?” Mark begged.
I turned to him.
“Why should I help you? What would I get out of it?”
Mark paused, “If you help me, I’ll sign the
divorce papers!”
く
I smiled, “I want sixty percent of the assets.
You are the one that messed up, the original
agreement of fifty–fifty is off the table.”
Mark’s face turned black, “Don’t push it!”
I shrugged. “Suit yourself.”
He thought about the Williams deal and for
his company, he agreed
Mark signed the divorce papers, and a month
later we had the certificate.
He looked at me angrily, “You promised you’d
help me with Mrs. Williams!”
I tucked the certificate away, then finally
answered, “I did try to talk to Mrs. Williams.
She just refused to forgive Tiffany. I guess
<
your company, not someone who is a walking
disaster.”
Mark yelled, “You played me!”
I shook my head, laughing.
“I was the one who got the Williams deal, and
you are the one who lost it. If you’re so smart,
then just find your own clients! But let’s be
honest, everyone in our industry knows that
you’ve fallen head over heels.”
