“Did you use some kind of ‘pregnancy pill‘?
No wonder a kid suddenly appeared.”
She stopped acting.
She sat down on the floor, showing us a
<
“You’re not seriously thinking about getting
back together with this man, right? Broken
mirrors can’t be put back together.‘
“When I called him out here, and told him I
was pregnant, I wasn’t using any props.”
My head buzzed, as if the last bit of
politeness between Jake and me was gone.
Our carefully maintained truce had finally
been broken.
What remained were bloody wounds.
I now understood that the big hole in my
heart had never actually healed.
It had just been covered by flowers, and was
now starting to rot.
<
I could hear something like a “ding” sound
from nowhere, followed by a cold, robotic
voice: “Conditions met. Protagonist’s
emotions are fluctuating intensely,
teleportation prop activated.”
I felt a sudden, unbearable pain rising from
my abdomen. Cold sweat broke out on my
forehead, and I curled into a ball.
“… It hurts so bad…!”
And then the woman started laughing.
She was laughing out loud, saying all sorts of
bad words.
But not at me, or at Jake.
She was yelling at something else.
<
Jake hurriedly helped me up, and rushed to
find his phone to call 911, then he rushed into
the bedroom to find painkillers.
He finally found the painkillers, quickly giving
them to me. Then, he turned to glare at the
woman on the floor.
“What did you do to Amy?!”
In the midst of the pain, I faintly heard a voice
say:
“The protagonist’s favorability has dropped to a negative number, the cleanup program will begin.”
Seeing that she was no longer able to
interfere, she sat on the floor, laughing like a
crazy woman.
<
“Isn’t it funny?!” She pointed a finger at Jake.
“I only hurt her body, but you, who loves her so much, is the one who hurt her heart!”
And then she disappeared in a fit of laughter,
along with the pool of blood under her.
The biggest problem we had was just
suddenly, magically gone.
Now, it was just me and Jake.
Jake seemed a little lost, and a little
confused.
He didn’t know the full story, and couldn’t
hear the voice. When he saw that I wasn’t in
so much pain, he tried to help, going into the
kitchen to pour a glass of warm water for me.
<
“Amy, get some rest.”
His hands were trembling, but he was mainly
happy.
Of course he was happy.
A major issue was solved without him doing
anything. Now, he could go back to being
with the woman he loved.
I knew him so well. Just by looking at his
face, I could tell he was sure that with enough
time, the harm caused by all of this would
slowly fade away.
“Amy,” He leaned closer to me. “Tomorrow is
our sixth wedding anniversary. I’ve booked a candlelit dinner for us, let’s go out later?”
r
I still didn’t reply.
Right now, my head was clearer than it had
ever been.
I couldn’t feel the so–called “love” in his
words.
“Jake, you’re 28 this year, right?”
“It’s been ten years since you confessed your
love to me. Time… moves so fast.”
I could feel his hand tightly holding mine, as if
he was afraid I would leave.
