Paul asked, “Did I hurt you?”
Miranda said, “Are you crazy? We’re in your lab!”
“So?”
“This is your workplace. Do you think we’re at home?
How could he kiss her out of nowhere? What was he thinking?
Paul’s breathing was slightly heavy, “You’re only half right.”
“What?”
“We’re at the lab, but this is my break room. Don’t worry, it’s very private. No one will enter.”
Miranda was at a loss for words. Was privacy or the chance of someone entering the break room even the issue here?
“Shh… Don’t talk. I want to keep kissing you.” Paul brushed his nose against hers gently.
When she didn’t respond, he said, “Remember to take breaths in between.”
Miranda was rendered speechless. This was something she had taught him, and now…

She sighed. It turned out that men seemed to have a natural knack for figuring out things like this in no time. He was quick on the uptake.
“Mimi, focus.”
Miranda closed her eyes and responded to the kiss lightly.
Paul couldn’t help but smile when he felt her body relax against him. His kisses grew more daring. It was unclear how much time had passed before Paul let her go. He felt slightly out of breath while Miranda was gasping for air, like a fish out of water.
Once she regained her composure, she instinctively reached for the bottle of water on the coffee table. She took a sip and realized what he meant by his words earlier. He knew that she would feel thirsty after the kiss!
“You’re a professor. I can’t believe you’d do something like this!” Miranda exclaimed.
Paul smirked, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “What do you mean? Do elaborate.”
Miranda didn’t respond. Putting down the water bottle, she stood up and walked to the full–length mirror, muttering under her breath, “My hair’s all messy…”
Paul followed and stood behind her as they both looked into the mirror.
Miranda’s cheeks were flushed, and her lips were slightly swollen. Her beautiful eyes were glistening with unshed tears.

didn’t actually touch her. His lowered gaze was unreadable, but the movement of his lashes was obvious. His lashes fluttered open and closed repeatedly.
Paul leaned his head closer to the curve of her neck, inhaling the intoxicating fragrance of her skin. It seemed as though he could never get enough of her.
Miranda suddenly realized what he was doing when a warm and moist sensation landed on her neck!
“Dr. Jefferson!” she exclaimed in frustration.
“Huh?” He sounded utterly unconcerned.

With that, she turned and pushed him away. The intense heat from his chest spread through his clothes and burned her skin with a single touch. She quickly withdrew her hand and took two steps back.
Paul chuckled, his voice husky. He said helplessly, “Don’t back away much further. You’ll hit the mirror.

Miranda sidestepped immediately and headed for the door. “I have something else to do, so I need to go now! See you tonight…”
With that, she tried to make her escape.
The next second, Paul caught her wrist and pulled her into his arms. He held her in a tight embrace. “Are you in such a hurry to leave after just a little while?”
Miranda whispered, “I told you, I’m busy…”
“Are you trying to avoid me?”
She remained silent.
Paul pressed further, “Mimi, you’re the one who told me to be a little more greedier. Are you regretting it now?”
“No… No, I’m not.”
Damn it! She and her big mouth.
Now, she was stuck in a dilemma. This wasn’t a problem about being a little greedy, but that things have escalated way too much!
Paul asked, “Really?”
Miranda nodded and said earnestly, “Yes, really.”
