Chapter 1050
“Proposal on Converting Plot 301-12 Adjacent to Earnest High Into an Agricultural Recreation Park.“” Lionel frowned as he read the title. “What does this mean?”
At that moment, Paul had just finished tidying up the kitchen and walked out.
Hearing the question, he explained, “I remember you once mentioned that you suggested hands–on planting workshops to the school, but they declined due to a lack of space. So, you started a little ‘flower corner‘ in your own class and placed some potted plants.
“I asked around and found that the school’s reasoning was valid. Earnest High is located in the city center, so they have limited space, making expansion difficult.
“However, Plot 301 received a rectification notice earlier this year. Plot 301-12 is adjacent to the school’s back gate. Turning that piece of land into an agricultural recreation park would be perfect.”
Shocked, Lionel stuttered slightly as he asked, “How… how did you pull this off?”
Paul explained calmly, “I looked into the data, and that plot is naturally hilly. Renovation costs would be relatively high. I seized the opportunity to suggest transferring the land to the school as is.
“The school wouldn’t have the budget to renovate after getting the land, so they’d have to adapt to the terrain Turning it into an agricultural recreation would be the best way to turn that disadvantage into an advantage.”
This way, the government, the school, and the students at Earnest High would all benefit. It was a mutually beneficial situation for all parties. Why wouldn’t they approve it?
It took Lionel a while to process everything. “They even issued an official document on this…”
That meant that the renovation plan was already finalized.
“This isn’t something that can be done in just a day or two, is it?” he asked.
Paul answered nonchalantly, “I submitted the proposal at the beginning of the year, but it hadn’t been approved back then. Yesterday, I pulled some strings to check on its progress. The document was released this afternoon.”
The beginning of the year…
No matter how dissatisfied Lionel was, he had to admit that Paul truly put in the effort.
Then, another thought struck him.
“You were interested in Mimi that early on?” Lionel exclaimed.
Paul responded seriously, “Even if I didn’t end up with Miranda, I still would’ve done it.”
Throughout their many conversations, a bond had naturally formed between them, even though Paul had no intention of ever making Lionel his so–called brother.
Lionel had just intended to vent when he casually complained about his concerns to Paul. Little did he expect that Paul not only listened to him but also took it to heart.
From suggesting the idea, to submitting the proposal, pushing it forward, and finally getting it approved… Lionel didn’t need to ask to know how challenging it must have been.
Was it so easy to secure land like that? Wouldn’t other parties want the land too even if the school wants it?
Who the government allocated the land to was always a tricky issue. Yet, Paul managed to navigate all the obstacles. It must have required significant influence and connections to get it done.

Lionel didn’t even dare to think about it. The more he thought about it, the guiltier he felt. After all, he had yelled so loudly at Paul earlier and was planning to scrutinize him further…
Paul’s gifts had hit home–both for Mindy and Lionel.
Lionel didn’t even try to stop Miranda from seeing Paul off at the door. Although he didn’t look exactly happy about it, he had at least given his silent approval.
“Dr. Jefferson, how could you be so amazing?” Miranda asked.
Paul raised an eyebrow. “Hmm? Amazing in what way?”
Miranda met his teasing glance and felt her lips twitch. “What are you thinking? Be serious.”
“I’m being serious,” he replied. “You’re the one who has your mind in the gutter.”
Miranda was taken aback. Did Paul learn how to retort and turn the tables on her now?
